If there was going to be any charge, you would have been notified AND had to give approval plus paid for the repair before any work was done.
I'm not sure why they'd be replacing your logic board unless some rookie legitimately damaged it by mistake, but if the display cable itself was bad, they'd have to replace the entire display assembly (it's all one part) which includes the cable, display, webcam, etc.

Sometimes that's a good thing because they'll replace simple things free of charge, other times they'll say "Oh we went in to fix the screen but your logic board is fried, gonna have to pay for that too". They will NEVER return a device with any part of it in non-working order. Basically, if Apple is working on your device, and they notice ANYTHING in the device is faulty/damaged/non-working, they will fix that too. I was a third party repair tech, but I worked with Apple many many times on warranty-related work, since I couldn't do that for free. If anything, they may have just discovered the camera cable was damaged or something and are replacing it for free.
